ANNOUNCEMENTS

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, Ward’s Marine Electric will be hosting a live music event at Grounded Coffee in Newport News, VA from 8am to 11am.  Join us as we host the very talented Lane Rice for smooth sounds and a great atmosphere as we promote our open career opportunities at Ward’s Marine Electric.

The South Florida marine industry had $18.5 billion in regional economic impact in 2022, and that number is projected to grow again this year. The Miami/Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area is the number one location for yacht refit and repair in the country due to its recent economic growth and proximity to the Caribbean. That means opportunities abound for jobs in marine trades, including our specialty: marine electric.

Our company has emerged as one of the few in the industry that are qualified to perform extensive refits and engineering on mega-yachts and large ships. We work with boat builders, marine electronics manufacturers, owner/operators, and even the US Defense Department designing and installing complex electrical systems in all types of vessels. Our two locations in Fort Lauderdale, FL and Riviera Beach, FL contain a combined 20,000 square feet of warehouse space and over 15,000 marine electric products. Our inventory is so robust that other suppliers use us when they need a hard-to-find marine electric product.

As our company has grown over the past decade, we are currently in a position that many businesses in South Florida are in. We have too much work that our current staff of engineers and electricians can manage. We are currently seeking qualified marine electricians and marine electrical engineers to fill positions immediately.

The South Florida job market is short on qualified candidates to fill these positions. So we decided to come to the best job market for marine electric talent in the country, Newport News, VA! Our head engineer got started at the local shipyard, and we’re coming back to find more candidates who want to improve their quality of life and take their talent to beautiful, sunny South Florida.

On Saturday, we will be at Grounded Coffee to promote these open positions and hand out informational material to interested candidates. We will have some free giveaways, and anyone who follows @wardsmarine on Instagram will receive a free coffee from Grounded Coffee. We will also be providing information on the open positions available at Ward’s and the relocation packages we are offering for anyone interested in joining our team in Fort Lauderdale. Feel free to apply to any of the positions available on our Careers page to learn more!
